Date- 10th May 2024

Venue- Demo Room Anatomy, Ground Floor

Time- 11AM-4 PM

Registration fee: Rs. 200 per person

Prizes: worth Rs. 3000


Rules and Regulations-


1.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA -

Any college student from any course can participate in the event. The participants must present their ID card at the time of registration.

2. The competition will be in the teams of two but every participant must register INDIVIDUALLY.

3. The debate will have 3 rounds - PRELIMS, SEMI FINAL and FINAL round.

4. For prelims - all the teams would be given 7-8 topics to choose from 24 hours before the debate.

5. One participant from each team has to speak for the motion and the other against the motion

6. Each team member will be given 2 mins to speak.

7. Semi final-After this round top 4 teamsafter cumulative scores of both the members will be selected and will be given topic for the debate on the spot.

8. Each team will be given 20 mins to prepare the topic.

9. Internet usage will be allowed during preparation.

10. Order followed will be-


a. Constructive Speech – Team A: First Speaker (4min)

b. Constructive Speech – Team B: First Speaker (4 min)

c. 1st Crossfire – Team A: First Speaker and Team B: First Speaker

(3 min)

d. Rebuttal Speech – Team A: Second Speaker (4 min)

e. Rebuttal Speech – Team B: Second Speaker (4 min)

f. Grand Crossfire – All Speakers (3 min)

g. Final Focus – Team A: Second Speaker (2 min)

h. Final Focus – Team B: Second Speaker (2 min)


11. A similar round for teams C and D in the same format will then take place.

12. Final round- Out of the 4 teams- top 2 teams (one from each round) will then have the final rebuttal in the same format after which the winner will be declared.

13. All the participants should adhere to English for speaking. Any discrepancy can result in marks deduction.

14. The decision of the judges would be final and binding.
