Venue - Firdaus-e-Nazm (Lecture Theatre-2)

Registration fees - Rs. 150 per person
Rules: -
Round 1
• The poet will present a pre prepared (slam) poetry
• The theme of the poem should be based on a Bollywood movie i.e. the poetry should be able to describe the story
(without giving away the name of the movie or the name of the actors)
• time limit is 3 minutes
• The poem could have any rhyming scheme
•The poem could be in any language
•Use of props is not allowed
Round 2
• Participants have to choose one of the pictures projected. On choosing the caption will be revealed
• Caption has to be included in the poem.
• Poem must be prepared within 20 minutes after getting the caption.
• Poets will be judged for content and presentation.
Round 3
• Random draw of numbers would be given to participants, and they must sit accordingly.
• A word as a prompt will be given to the first participant.
• Participants have to write 4 lines with that prompt.
• All other participants will write starting with the word previous participant ended with.
• 3 sub rounds will be conducted of 1 minute, 30 seconds and 15 seconds.
Judging: -
Round 1
• Judges will judge poetry based on originality, creativity, flow, diction, fluency.
• Judge will guess the movie from the poetry and if he/she gets it right, poet fetches more marks.
Round 2 -
• A poet will be judged for content, fluency, diction and confidence.
• Inclusion of caption and emotion represented by image will fetch more marks.
Round 3
• Marks will increase in denomination of 5 for each sub round.
• Those who couldn't present won't fetch marks for that sub round.
The one with maximum marks will be announced *Mumtaz-e-Mehfil*
